Annual Health Checks

We offer a range of annual health checks for different ages to facilitate patients taking an active role in their health.

45-49 year old Health Check

Health checks for patients between the ages 45-49 year old health checks are highly recommended as this is a turning point in your life, when you have a chance to make the lifestyle changes required to prevent or delay the development of chronic diseases.

The health check will involve a 30 minute consultation with your doctor.

The health check will include:

Collecting information about your lifestyle, mental health and family history; and
undertaking physical examinations and investigations as required such as blood pressure checks, weight or blood tests;

Over 75 year old Health Check

Patients who are over 75 years old are encouraged to undertake a full annual health check to identify any ongoing and new medical issues that need to be addressed. This may include the need for mobility aids extra home services, review of medications and screening for early detection of hearing, vision or cognitive impairment.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Checks

This health check is designed to support the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients of all ages.

Staying on top of your health is important. It helps to identify potential illnesses or chronic diseases before they occur. It is much easier to look at ways to prevent these things from occurring, rather than treatment.

The health check will involve a 30 minute consultation with your doctor, they will record information about your health, such as your blood pressure, blood sugar levels, height and weight. You might also have a blood test or urine test. Depending on the information you’ve provided, you might have some other tests too. It is also an opportunity to talk about the health of your family.

This health check is available for all ages and are bulked billed for all eligible patients. You can have this health check once every 9 months.
