
Adult ADHD Medication Management
Our practice provides continuation prescribing for Adult ADHD patients under the care of Dr. Patrick Tai. To ensure clinical safety and compliance with regulatory requirements, please note the following criteria:
Eligibility Criteria
Dr. Tai acts strictly as a Continuation Prescriber for Adult ADHD patients. To access this service, patients must meet the following conditions:
Formal Australian Diagnosis: You must have a pre-existing, written diagnosis of ADHD from a qualified Australian Psychiatrist.
Clinical Stability: Your medication and dosage must be stable. Dr. Tai cannot initiate new treatments or make adjustments to your current dosage.
Required Documentation: We must receive and approve a copy of your Psychiatrist’s diagnostic report and treatment plan prior to your appointment. This documentation must clearly outline the stable dosing regimen Dr. Tai is being asked to continue.
Important Service Limitations
New ADHD Diagnosis: Dr. Tai does not diagnose ADHD. This will require a referral to a Psychiatrist for a formal assessment, which Dr. Tai can help facilitate.
Dose Adjustments: Dr Tai does not make any changes to ADHD medication. This must be managed by your Psychiatrist.
Referrals Available: If you require a formal diagnosis, please book a standard consultation with one of our doctors to discuss a referral to a specialist.
How to make an appointment
To ensure Dr. Tai can safely and legally continue your ADHD medication, we follow a strict pre-approval process. Please follow the steps below before attempting to book an appointment.
Step 1: Document Submission & Review
Dr. Tai must review and approve your clinical documentation prior to an appointment being scheduled.Please email your formal documentation with your name and contact details to info@parksydneymedical.com.au:
Subject: ATTN Dr Patrick Tai - Adult ADHD Continuation Prescribing
Formal Diagnostic Report and Current Treatment Plan: Issued by a qualified Australian Psychiatrist, confirming your diagnosis of Adult ADHD and confirming your stable dosage, and authorising a GP to continue your specific prescription.
Note: Dr. Tai acts strictly as a continuation prescriber for Adult ADHD. If your documentation indicates a need for dose adjustments or if a formal Australian diagnosis is not provided, the request will not be approved for this specific service.
Step 2: Clinical Approval
Once your documents are received, Dr. Tai will review them to ensure they meet the regulatory requirements.
If Approved: Our reception team will contact you to book your appointment.
If Further Info is Needed: We will notify you if any details (such as dosage stability) are missing from your Psychiatrist's report.
Step 3: Booking Your Appointment
Please do not use the online booking system for your ADHD medication appointment until your paperwork has been reviewed.
Once Dr. Tai has confirmed your eligibility, our reception team will contact you to book your appointment. This ensures that when you arrive, all legal requirements are met and your prescription can be issued without delay.
